Our Ladies cleaned up at the recent County Shield event at Scraptoft Golf Club run by the Leicestershire & Rutland County Ladies Golf Association. Our team of Lianna Bailey, Annabel Bailey and Jessica Bailey won the Scratch Shield. Our team of Julie Dawson, Jenny Carter and Anne Eastham won the Handicap Shield. Both teams are pictured above with the Ladies Captain. And if that wasn’t enough, Lianna Bailey won the Ellis Trophy for the best gross score of the day.

Tri Golf Festival 2017
On Thursday 18th May 2017, Kirby Muxloe Golf Club played host to the annual Tri Golf Festival being run by Leicester City Schools Sports Partnership. County Coach Ian Bailey was in attendance to provide a helping hand.
This heat represented the west of Leicester and there will be a further heat next week at Humbertsone Heights Golf Club to represent the east of Leicester. The winners from each section play off in a final at a multi sports event being held later in the year in Uppingham.
Around 200 girls and boys formed fourteen teams from ten inner city schools to take part in various golfing tasks. There were two separate competitions - one for Years 3 & 4 and the other for Years 5 & 6.
This is the second year that Kirby Muxloe has hosted the event. It was previously held at Western Park Golf Club before that facility closed in October 2015.
Fortunately, the festival was blessed with warm, bright and sunny conditions, far removed from the previous day's torrential rain.
These events are not only designed to be fun activities, but also provide an introduction to golf for children that may not otherwise get the opportunity to do so. County starlet Coby Cartwright was first introduced to golf through these events and he has gone on to represent England.
