A message from the Ladies Captain,
I write to you as the Incoming Ladies Captain for 2022. I am very proud to take on the role at this prestigious club following in the footsteps of so many other successful ladies.
It has been a difficult 2 years, but we are hopefully on the way to being able to enjoy a full season of golf, weather permitting of course.
I would like to put on record my personal thanks to the outgoing Ladies Captain, Diane Wood. Not only has she been a tremendous source of support and advice to me, but she has moved golf forward by instigating and successfully setting up the Ladies Golf Pathway and in achieving the Women in Golf Charter for Kirby Muxloe Golf Club.
I would also like to thank Sylvia Swain for taking on the role of Ladies Vice Captain. With her tremendous knowledge of all aspects of golf and competition, I know she will provide me with lots of help and advice over the forthcoming year.
The course is looking in great condition and thanks go to the Greenkeepers who have worked so hard over the past 2 years preparing us for the year ahead. We have a full calendar of matches, both friendly and formal and I hope you will pencil these dates into your diaries and consider volunteering to play or come along and support those ladies playing. Our own competitions are also in the diary but there is ample opportunity for you to play social and fun golf.
My Ladies Captain’s Day is Tuesday 28 June, and my away day is booked for Friday 19 August at Kedleston Park. Sign-up sheets will be on the board in due course, and I hope you will join me in what I hope will be an enjoyable day for everyone.
I am looking forward to meeting up more with you all over the next year, both on and off the golf course. In the meantime, I wish you all a successful and enjoyable year.
