Ladies Welcome

Dear Ladies,

2020 brought many challenges to anyone carrying out a role within a golf club, plus so many fun experiences were cancelled.  I am therefore honoured, delighted and grateful to have received the support of members to continue my role as Ladies Captain of Kirby Muxloe Golf Club for 2021.

I would like to thank past Council Members for their hard work throughout a difficult year and to welcome new members into their positions.  I believe they bring valued skills and expertise.  Collectively we will work together in the best interests of the club and its members.   I would like to take this opportunity to thank Anna Taylor for embracing her role as Vice Captain and providing support not only to myself but to other Council members.  Also, for agreeing to allow me to have the opportunity to experience in 2021 what I missed in 2020.

I have spoken previously about being proud to be part of a club that values traditions whilst encouraging progression.   One of my proudest moments last year was when Kirby Muxloe was awarded the R & A Women in Golf Charter, supported by England Golf.   The charter recognises golf clubs for the work they are doing to encourage more women, girls and families to participate in golf.  Our commitments to the Charter can be seen on our website together with details of the Ladies Academy and various membership opportunities.

This year I am really looking forward to working with the Ladies Committee who will provide the support I will need to carry out my role and to spending time getting to know as many members as possible both on the golf course and in the club house.  I would like to wish everyone a successful season, playing some great golf, but more importantly having fun in each other’s company.

Best Wishes,

Diane Wood

Ladies Captain
