Our Ladies County 4's Team overcame their disappointment in losing in last year's semi finals by not only going one step further this year in reaching the final, but also ran out winners against Birstall Golf Club in the final at Glen Gorse Golf Club. They also won their matches against Glen Gorse, Beedles Lake, Willesley Park and Lutterworth to reach the final.

The opening pair of Julie Coulthurst and Di Wood won their match 3 up and the second pair of Jenny Carter (Ladies Captain) and Sylvia Swain (Ladies President) won thier match to seal a 7 up victory.

Many congratulations to the players and a huge thanks go to their caddies and those who went along to support them on the day.

Council are delighted to announce the appointment of Ben Knowles who is to take over as our Caterer, on a franchise basis, with effect from Monday 10^th September 2018. Earlier this year, the decision to make a step change in our catering service was taken in order to improve the financial performance of the kitchen. However, they concede that whilst there has been some improvement, there has been a reduction of the level of service to the point where action needed to be taken. Unfortunately, further changes cannot happen overnight and there has been a considerable amount of time and effort devoted to arriving at the position we now have. Ben comes to us with a fabulous reputation which has been earned whilst operating as Franchise Caterer (trading as Ben’s Kitchen) at the Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Groby. Ben has recently reached the No.1 rating out of 1019 restaurants in Leicester on Trip Advisor. Council are sure that all members at Kirby Muxloe Golf Club will give Ben a warm welcome when he joins us next month and that they will support him during his time with us.
